Feel Good Art for Football Fans
The Situation
Medtronic is a global leader in biotech and medical device technology. They’re consistently at the forefront of medical innovation taking on the greatest healthcare challenges of our day. They’re also huge football fans and sponsor both US Bank Stadium and the Minnesota Vikings. We were approached to help bring their sponsorship of the Medtronic Club inside US Bank Stadium to life in a way that was unique and spoke to the core of the company’s mission.
The Solution
We concepted and executed a multi-person biometrics sensor system, named “Vitals”, wherein biometric sensors were placed throughout US Bank Stadium which served as a data aggregation platform. The output of this platform was displayed in shape-shifting, colored visualizations that constantly displayed the aggregate emotions being felt by the crowd in response to what was happening in the game. This real-time artwork was displayed on interactive, large-scale displays visible to everyone within the Medtronic Club.
